Through collaborative work through Google docs, we penned this little poem together.

The Challenge

Summer is...

Climbing up a ramp on a screeching roller coaster, 
and then dropping 200 feet down. (MB)

Watching cows walking around eating fresh, green grass. (GB)

Eating peanut butter sandwiches under an umbrella on the beach. (AB)

Hearing the roaring noise of the ocean from my balcony. (MD)

Relaxing on the patio, gazing into the sunset. (CE)

Playing fetch with my barking dog in the living room,
whenever my mom’s not home.(CF)

Resting on the soft, green, couch watching TV. (LF)

Gobbling up great books on a long car ride. (JH)

Falling asleep to powerful waves crashing onto the shore. (CL)

Going to church camp with my awesome friends. (JWM)

Feeling the whoosh of the beach breeze through my ears. (JM)

Leaping off of the diving board into the glistening, warm pool. (PM)

Sprinting across the scorching sand on the endless coastline of the beach. (JP)

Sizzling steak searing on the red, hot grill.  (ES)

Rejoicing at the thought of no school! (DV)

The challenge is facing summer’s end. (LL)

School is…

Waking up to the smell of fresh eggs and crispy bacon. (CE)

Seeing the shining cardinal Dunham D’s when arriving on campus. (GB)

Unlocking and locking my locker while grabbing my books and folders for class.(MD)

Hearing the sound of pencils scratching on paper. (MB)

Waiting outside Mrs. Courville’s room, enjoying the sweet, crisp air. (LF)

Working hard and reaping rewards. (JH)   

Smelling the sweet aroma of today’s lunch. (DV)

Savoring the warm baked chocolate chip cookies from the dining hall. (CL)

Crunching a glistening red apple in the lunchroom. (AB)

Grabbing for the crumbly, s’more brownie dessert the first day of school. (ES)

Laughing constantly as we walk to our next class. (JM)

Listening to the teacher explaining a subject. (JP)

Jotting down miles and miles of notes in a matter of seconds. (LL)

Joking and yelling at recess in the big, bright sun. (JWM)

Sprinting from the last class of the day to Coach Sullivan’s room after school. (CF)

Carrying a huge backpack to school and back home every, single, day! (PM)

The challenge is waiting for summertime again!
