Tigers See...
Our third quarter publishing class is exploring Jean Marzollo's "I Spy" books now. We've learned about how she works with a photographer and about the rhythm of her riddles. We've even rapped a few. We've brought in treasures of our own, and now we're ready to try a riddle too. Keep checking our blog to see how we do!
Jean Marzollo spied some objects in a row,
We are writing tigers, seeing what we know;
About rhythm, rhyme scheme, and couplets too,
Pictures, tiny treasures and describing them to you.
Tigers See
Tigers see two snakes, two lizards and ZACH,
And a racecar almost on the track;
A “V” and a Santa Clause too,
Two penguin notebooks, one pink and one blue. (AD)
Tigers see a bug beside a car,
And a dinosaur from afar;
A clip, a die, a Happy Birthday,
And a fish trying to swim away. (WC)
Tigers see a frog with a hat,
A yellow lego and an orange cat;
A ball, a game and a baseball card,
A man who’s mean and a marble that’s hard. (AS)
Tigers see a gazelle that’s brown,
And a tube of chap-stick that's upside down;
A bracelet, and a rock on its upside,
And a lamb that’s so white. (ZD)
Tigers see a car that’s green,
A purple hair-band and a frog that reads;
A sheep’s hair that’s white as snow,
And Frosty the Snowman, down he goes. (RJ)
Tigers see a ruler, a hairbrush, some lead,
A carriage, a “V” and a pen that’s red;
A snowman, an eraser, a lizard, a string,
A marker, a flashlight, and a lamb with a ring. (JG)
Tigers see a brown football with a frog on top,
And a yellow disk that goes pop, pop;
A die, a dart, and a mean lego dude,
A slithering snake that's looking for food. (HS)
Tigers see a blue notepad,
A marble, a ring, and a queen who is glad;
A helmet, a lizard, a magnet too,
A gold coin, a necklace, and a ball which is new. (CB)
Our class is still brainstorming, drafting too,
Still busy seeing what Writing Tigers do!
